Delta in Data and Community – DANUBIUS-RO Citizen Observatory

01/09/2026

Representatives of our Faculty will participate on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, in the event entitled Delta in Data and Community – DANUBIUS-RO Citizen Observatory, hosted by the Tulcea County Council (20 Păcii Street).

The workshop, focusing on how local observations can be transformed into data useful for science, management, and public policy, aims to launch the co-creation process of the DANUBIUS-RO Citizen Observatory by bringing together representatives of public authorities, the scientific community, the private sector, and civil society. The objective is to identify how local observations can become validated data that can support research and the sustainable management of the Danube Delta.

The programme includes an interactive demonstration, How Does an Observation Become Scientific Information?, and a discussion panel, The Danube Delta between Research, Administration, and Community. A Living Lab – Co-creation Workshop will also be organized around three themes: What do we observe? How do we collect data? How do we use the information?

Approximately 20 participants are expected to take part, working in three groups comprising representatives of public authorities, researchers, private-sector representatives, NGOs, and local communities.
