DURATION OF THE PROJECT
2023-2025
DIRECTOR DE PROIECT:
Giuseppe Etiope
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The project aims to develop fundamental gas-geochemistry research and build a team of excellence and equipment facilities.
- WP.1 Building The Research Team
- A team of researchers is trained to become a new reference for studies and services on gas-geochemistry.
- WP.2 Building The Research Facility
- A laboratory is equipped with the latest generation of gas sensors and instruments for water analysis.
- WP.3 Demonstrative Field Work
- Surveys for natural methane and ethane emission (Topic 1)
- Surveys for soil-water pollution and hazard assessment (Topics 2)
- Surveys for detection of geological hydrogen in the ground (Topic 3)
- WP.4 Project Impact, Dissemination And Communication
- Analysis of project’ scientific, social and economic impact
Dissemination and communication of results
- Analysis of project’ scientific, social and economic impact
OBJECTIVES
- Developing fundamental gas-geochemistry research and building a team of excellence and equipment facilities
- Expertise on gas origin and release to aquifers, soil and atmosphere from natural and anthropogenic sources, and their environmental and energy resource implications
- Demonstrative gas-geochemical studies with holistic approach
- environmental impact: soil-water pollution by hydrocarbons and hazard
- scientific gaps: geo-methane emission to the atmosphere
- opening new research prospectives: natural hydrogen in Romania
